There are so many people that love to go on hikes. You don’t need to be a crazy knowledgeable hiker or outdoorsy person in order to enjoy a hike. Sometimes, if you are able to just throw on a good pair of sneakers and clothes you are able to move around in easily, you can still enjoy a good hike or stroll through the woods. However, you will soon see that those workout sneakers don’t do well when you are trying to keep steady and keep your ankles from rolling when the path is uneven and there are lots of little pebbles and rocks. If you are hiking along the side of a cliff side, you will see that those sneakers won’t have enough tread to keep you from slipping off or gripping your feet on the gravel. Plus, that old backpack that you have had since college is not great when it comes to packing up all your hiking essentials, or keeping you cool when it starts to get hot. Plus, you will see that those cheap sunglasses you got for free at a music festival don’t work feel for protecting your eyes and your face from the sun when you no longer have tree cover. The more you hike, the more you realize that having at least the basics is a great way to not only feel more comfortable, but help you enjoy your hike more. Therefore, making sure you have the right hiking gear is essential for your hiking experience.
When you are hiking, you want to make sure you have what you need for the climate, environment, and day you are hiking. If you are hiking in the late afternoon or evening, then you should wear something reflective so that in case you get lost or are alone, other people can find you more easily. If you are hiking some place wet and rainy, you should have hiking boots that are also waterproof and have a deep tread. If you are hiking some place hot, you should get long sleeves and long pants to protect you from the sun and also from bug bites.
Hiking gear can include so many different things, but it is all about a good hiking trip at the end of the day.
